Hugo Oliveira

Hugo is from Figueira da Foz on the Western Atlantic coast of Portugal. His love for travel and entertainment took him on to cruise ships where, as well as working with the passengers he also regularly provided the music as resident DJ for crew parties!
Since meeting Katharine he has discovered horses and completed the challenging ATE (Accompaniante Tourismo Equestre) course in 2008. In 2009 Hugo realised his dream of racing a quad bike and his season culminated in victory in Odemeira. He hopes to compete in a number of races in 2010.
Katharine Cook

Katharine has been horse-mad as long as she can remember. After leaving school she studied for her BHSAI and worked as an event horse groom for Kerrie Daykin and then a riding instructor at Bedgebury School before attending Warwickshire College of Agriculture gaining distinction in the Advanced National Certificate in Equine Business Management and a BA (Hons) in Equine Studies.
Her degree qualification took her into an administrative role at Riding for the Disabled Association Headquarters where she continued to compete and teach out of office hours! Katharine's interest in fitness led to a secondary career as a Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer.
This work helped her realise her dream of travelling the globe with two contracts working for Celebrity Cruise lines, visiting destinations in Europe, South America, Alaska, America and The Caribbean. It was on her first contract in 2001 that she met Hugo and they decided to set down roots in Portugal.
