Pony Club Saturdays

From 20th February Pony Club will have different format with the option of staying for the whole day. Pony Club starts 9.30-10.00 and finishes 1.00-1.30, with group lessons at 10.15, 11.00 and 11.45 (Teenagers). The mini’s will now ride at 9.45 (pony grooming afterwards). Each week we will be covering different stable management topics (see below) with quiz questions at the end of the morning graded Bronze, Silver & Gold to see how much you know! In the afternoon Pony Clubbers who have attended the morning and either bring their own horse or have one on adoption may stay for the afternoon and choose whether they would like to ride out, in the school or just spend time pampering their pony! Saturday Pony Club costs €20. There is a discounted rate of €17.50 if you bring your own horse or have one on adoption.

Horse & Pony Adoption Scheme

With Paloma and Juliet on adoption there are still plenty of horses and ponies to choose from. Adoption costs €30 per month for a pony and €60 for a horse. This entitles you to unlimited riding and discounted Pony Club and also to stay on afterwards for Saturday afternoons.

Carnival Fun Show – 21st February / Combined Training – 7th March

The Algarve Riding Club is holding these events at Penina and Equus Ourique. We will be taking several ponies so if you would like to be part of “Team Quinta da Bica”, make sure you sign up!

Camp 2010

Summer seems a long way off at the moment but here is a reminder of the dates for Camp 2010.

• July 12 – 15 Summer Adventure Camp 8 – 16 years old (residential) €120
• August 9 – 13 Teen Horse Camp 13 & over (residential) €120
• August 17 – 20 Junior Pony Camp 8 – 12 years old (residential) €100
• August 25 – 27 Mini Pony Camp 7 & under (non-residential) €80

We are happy to accept payment in instalments to help spread the cost over the next few months.

Quinta da Bica News

We are very pleased to announce that Jess will be staying for Summer 2010 and we also have an Equine Science Degree Student – Sarah Walker, coming to help us from mid-June!
